Anantamul – अनंतमूल

 It is a vine, which trails on the ground and climbs by means of
tendrils growing in pairs from the petioles.
 The vine emerges from a long, tuberous rootstock, and can
reach up to 1-3 m.
 Stem is cylindrical with thick nodes
 Leaves are alternately arranged in a pair, orbicular to ovate,
evergreen, dark green in color.
 The flowers are arranged in auxiliary umbel inflorescences. The
flower cymes are stalkless.
 Flowers are small and have 5 petals, greenish on the outside
and yellowish purple on the inside. The flower petals are fleshy.
 Fruits are long follicles.
