Bhringaraj – भृंगराज
It is a short stemmed succulent herb. It has horizontally
creeping rhizomes.
The leaves are arranged in a rosette. They are succulent, thick,
fleshy, broad at the base and narrowing towards the apex. They
are light green, smooth with spiny prickles at the margin.
It can give an offset of rosette of leaves which eventually form a
new plant.
The flowers are borne on a long raceme inflorescence, with
younger flowers at the apex and older flowers below. They are
small, yellow to orange in color and tubular.
The fruit is a three angled capsule.
